Arrival
Arrival
We have two morning “drop off” zones, both function as drop off lanes and there is no parking permitted during drop off:
- South Rice – A small horseshoe drive allows cars to pull off the busy street to drop-off children. Be mindful of traffic when pulling out.
- S. Third Street – Use only the drop off lane closest to the building; please do not leave your car when dropping students off, our goal is to keep the line moving for a quick, safe drop off. PreK and Kindergarten students must use the S. Third Street carpool lane.
Always let children out from the passenger side; it is critical that parents take the extra time to drop off their children on the correct side of the street. If you park in the neighborhood, be mindful of parking restrictions.
Parents should NOT park in either parking lot during arrival. If you choose to walk your student up to school in the morning, you should park, legally, in the neighborhood.
Dismissal
Dismissal
We have two “pick up” zones for afternoon dismissal.
- Parents who have students in grades PK, K, and 1st will use the carpool lane on S. Third Street and their children will be loaded into the car. Alternatively, you can walk up to pick up your student on S. Third Street; if you choose this option be sure you are parked legally in the neighborhood.
- Parents who have students in 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th grade will pull up to the S. Rice gate and their children will be loaded into the cars.
Note 1: If you have siblings, the older sibling will always go to the dismissal spot of the younger sibling. Example: If your children are in 4th grade and Kindergarten, they will both be picked up on S. Third Street since that is the designated kindergarten dismissal area.
Note 2: All students not picked up by 3:10 p.m. will be taken to the office. Parents will need to enter the school office to check their child out of school. Please make sure your child and their teacher know how your child will get home each day.
If a situation arises and you need to change the way your child gets home that day, call the front office and let them know. Teachers are busy teaching all day, and likely won’t see a message.
